In the first two months:

·         Develop a clear outline of sessions and deliverables and a clear schedule and timeline.

  • The consultant has to share the training curriculum that will be used to deliver the training sessions.
  • Design Manuals, guide/ curriculum for and conduct Trainings
  • Agree with the company on the training approach and training curriculum.

Develop pre and post-tests to assess the capabilities of the beneficiaries and to monitor their progress during training sessions. Starting in January:

  • Provision of on-site continuous operational support for three farmer group for each candidate
  • Implement the training and deliverables as developed and agreed upon including but not limited to:
    • Governance support: organization of meetings, meeting notes, governance requirements for coops as needed (general assembly, PV, surveillance council meetings, etc)
    • Annual campaign planning including but not limited to annual budget, treasury, investments, purchasing strategy and phasing, sustainability targets and budget, etc
    • HR processes
    • Administrative processes
    • Mid-term growth plan including volume projections, sustainability projects, budgets, investments, etc.

·         Promoting and protecting professionalism and ensure self-discipline among the Cooperative Professionals.

  • Consultant has to monitor attendance of beneficiaries and to report any issues to the company focal point.
  • Provide weekly reports to the company Project Manager on the progress of the beneficiaries, attendance, pending issues and planned activities for the upcoming week.

At mid-point and at the end:

  • provide company focal point with a mid-point and final report that includes the remaining areas of support needed and specific areas of focus required for the skills development of the cooperative members, achievements, results, challenges, learnings, recommendations and more.

Profil du poste

·     Minimum Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or management, certificate in cooperative management and other related field

·         A minimum of 5 years’ experience in supporting and coaching enterprises and/or farmer groups, developing and facilitating trainings

  • Experience working in rural areas, in the agricultural sector or directly with farmer group leaders is a must
  • Schedules activities to ensure optimum use of time and resources; monitors performance against development and other objectives and corrects deviations from the course
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills for a wide range of stakeholders
  • Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations of the subject matter.
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods for better understanding of the farmer group staffs
  • Pinpoint opportunities for ongoing development of cooperatives
  •         Proven ability to collaborate with strong teams in the absence of formal authority

    ·         Flexible to be displaced along our regions of intervention

    ·         Demonstrated problem-solving ability and results oriented

    ·         Fluency in French and English
